| In this, the first installment entitled "THE LAST SIN EATER" Landon explores an ancient Celtic ritual brought to America inthe mid 1850's by a community of Welsh immigrant settlers in the Appalachian mountains who believed that a human Sin Eater could discharge the dead of their sins. A beautiful adaptation based on the inspirational best seller by Francine Rivers, "THE LAST SIN EATER", looks at the themes of sin, grace and absolution through the eyes of 10 year old Cadi Forbes (played by young star Liana Liberato). After the accidental death of her little sister, guilt ridden Cadi Forbes looks for absolution to no avail in a mystical ritual performed by the sin eater (played by Peter Wingfield) but instead uncovers a dark secret that threatens to pull her family and community apart. An all-star cast including Academy Award winner Louise Fletcher (One flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), two-time Golden Globe Nominee Henry Thomas (Gangs of New Yorkand E.T The Extra- Terrestrial), Soren Fulton (Thunderbirds) and A.J. Buckley (CSI: NY) brings the film to life. Here, we caught up with its' director to talk about his latest project, his thoughts on Christian filmmaking, and what it means to bear the legacy of the Landon name. Continues on page 2 |
