“Politics were always on the table when it came to performing and learning music. At each level
of my educational and musical experience, I learned how to navigate the differences in technique
and the culture of each environment by putting genre’s aside and connecting to the character and the
audience by way of the human dilemma. We all hurt and cry and have similar political and financial
circumstances that cause us to behave in a particular way. Growing up in the home of a theologian
where economics and politics were discussed, gave me a sense of how other people viewed life,
their vocabularies and how they expressed their views. These and other components taught me
how to make meaningful connections with the audience beyond the trappings of race and creed.”
A repertoire that runs the gamut from Opera to musical theater, and from Jazz to gospel continues
to baffle critics and astound pundits. His wide range of performances and TV credits include The
PBS special, Three Mo' Tenors, The Tony Awards, NBC's Today show, operatic debuts at the Lyric
Operaof Chicago and, The Virginia Opera, as well as concert soloist at the Bettona Symphony in Italy,
The Chicago Symphony orchestra at Ravinia and The Concordia Orchestra at Lincoln Center. These
and many other appearances, serve as platforms for his ability to seamlessly navigate through a

number of genre while maintaining the authenticity of each piece.

Beyond the accolades, faith takes center stage in his personal and professional life, guiding and
informing every aspect of his craft and performance." Once I have dealt with all the technicalities of
preparing for a performance, i.e., scores, translations, style, the acting point of view and my own
artistic rendition; I seek God’s perspective and receive new learning experiences that only He can
give. It ‘s in that place that something happens –and people are not just entertained… but moved".
