LINGK: What's MRO athletic training program about?

MULDEN:
Up until July of 2007, our sport medicine and athletic training program was

comparable to anything you'd see at a major university or a professional sports team
in this country. We have certified athletic trainers on staff, who care for crew members,
drivers and anyone within the racing community with any type of injury to ankles,
knees, lower and upper-back and neck. We're a traveling community. If those services
aren't mobile and taken from track to track, there's no way for these folks to get the
type of help they need at the race track. Unfortunately we were not able to renew our
sponsorship, but we're still in the process of looking for a new sponsor.

LINGK: Tell us a little about MRO's “Home and Shop Ministry”?

MULDEN:
The Home & Shop Ministry at the race track is where we build and develop
a lot of relationships. Approximately 75 percent of the employees in the NASCAR
BUSCH AND CUP series never set foot on a track, but are hard at work in the car
shops surrounding the Charlotte, North Carolina area. We realized that there
was another opportunity for ministry in going into these race shops to provide help,
support and care for this part of the racing community as well. We use a number of
volunteer pastors and lay leaders to partner with us. We'll go in twice a month and
in some cases, maybe every week to do a shop bible study for employees who might
like it. Our team is always available to visit, talk or help with a trauma or hospital
visitation, or with any other need that the race team may have. We find that just as
much as there's a need at the racetrack, there's also a need at home and in the
shops, because a lot of these folks are working very long-days and sometimes even
seven days a week. So we've found that if we'll go to them, they're very open to
allowing us to minister and care for them.

LINGK: How has your faith prepared and sustained you throughout your years

of service?

MULDEN:
My faith has allowed me to not always look at circumstances that would
scare the mess out of me, but to just trust God, Hisdirection and where He's taking
me, because I believe in my heart and I feel the guidance of his Holy Spirit. As you
can see, what we do here is a little bit different and a lot of people don't even know
that we're out here. I spend a lot of time on the road. I'm a husband. I’m a father.

I have three children. They're not often able to go with me, simply because of their
ages and they have other things in life. So, I guard and protect my marriage and
relationship with my kids, but I have a hunch, that if it was not for the foundation of
my faith, the foundation of my personal relationship with Jesus, if it was not for the
power of the Holy Spirit in my life, I seriously doubt that I could do this workand
be effective. I'd probably just be another person looking for help myself.
