LINGK: How and why did Motor Racing Outreach get started?

MULDEN: This is really an incredible story about what God was doing in the lives,
marriages and careers of a group of Nascar drivers by the names of Darrell and Stevie
Waltrip, Lake and Lisa Speed, Phil and Marsha Parson and Bobbie and Kim Miller.
As God drew them closer to Him, these couples realized that if they were going to stay
in the sport and grow in their faith, they would need someone out there with them
ministering. Prior to this, they had seen other chaplains involved in NASCAR, but
what made this different was that this ministry was birthed out of the racing community
themselves looking to see something happen- that which began as a small bible-study, that Max Hilton (MRO's founding chaplain) held with these couples, grew into what
you see today.
